A case was lodged with Islamic University thana against the president of the university unit of Bangladesh Chhtra League (BCL) for beating up a transport worker here on Thursday.

Contractor of Janani Paribahan Hasanuzzaman Bachchu filed the case accusing BCL leader Sheikh Shahanur Alam Keramot, his brother-in-law Liton and nephew Babu for beating up the helper of his vehicle mercilessly.

The plaintiff alleged that the accused beat up the helper with a hammer centering an altercation on getting up on the vehicles.

The helper with serious injuries was now undergoing treatment at Kustia General Hospital.
