Switzerland will provide US$ 1 million for the 'Preparation of Electoral Roll with Photographs' (PERP) project, implemented by the Bangladesh Election Commission. The contribution will be channeled through a pooled funding mechanism coordinated by UNDP.

In this connection, UNDP Resident Representative Renata Lok Dessallien and Ambassador of Switzerland Dr Dora Rapold signed an agreement in Dhaka yesterday.

''Switzerland is assisting the Bangladesh Election Commission to prepare a comprehensive and accurate voter list with photographs in order to facilitate preparations for fair and credible elections'' said the Swiss Ambassador on the occasion.

"We are extremely pleased to be able to join other development partners in supporting this important initiative,' she added.
