Two sub-inspectors of Narsingdi model thana accused of beating a young man to death were closed to the police lines following several hundred people demonstrated in front of the thana and DC's residence.

Police super Shahabuddin Khan today ordered the action against sub-inspectors Matiar and Akbar.

Several hundred angry people demonstrated Monday night with the body of Morshed Rana (30) who was allegedly implicated with false charge and beaten to death at the thana. The body was later taken to Dhama Medical College Hospital.

Hospital report said the body of Morshed bore marks of deep injuries.
