President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed left here for New York on Tuesday on a weeklong official visit to the United States.

During his departure at the Zia International Airport, Advisers of the Caretaker Government Barrister Mainul Hosein, Maj Gen (Retd) MA Matin, Head of the Diplomatic Corps, Cabinet Secretary, Navy and Air Chiefs, Charge d' Affaires of the USA Embassy and high civil military officials were present.

"He will arrive in New York on October 31 via Dubai by a regular flight of the Emirates Airlines EK 583," said a Bangabhaban announcement.

During his seven-day visit to he USA, the President would attend functions in Ohio and New Orleans.
