Bangladesh condemns PKK attacks on Turkish troops

UNB, Dhaka

Bangladesh strongly condemned the attacks on Turkish troops by terrorists belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Speaking to media, Foreign Advisor Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury observed, "Turkey has been demonstrating remarkable patience which could understandably run out if the aggression continues". He said "We are opposed to terrorism in all forms, and the attacks on Turkish forces are totally unacceptable."

The Advisor recalled his recent meeting in New York with Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and said that "Turkey is a responsible international actor and Bangladesh's values the existing bilateral relations, and would favour widening and deepening them".
