A Court of Dhaka yesterday issued warrant of arrest against former Chief Whip Abul Hasnat Abdullah in a case filed for income-tax dodging through concealment of facts about his income.

Md Shafiul Azam, Assistant Commissioner (Taxation) of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Thursday filed the case with the Metropolitan sessions Judge Court of Dhaka while the Judge Md Azizul Haque took cognisance of the case and ordered the warrant of arrest. The Judge fixed October 30 for reporting to the court about the execution of the warrant order.

In the case, Hasnat Abdullah was accused of concealing facts about his income from different sources to the tune of Taka one crore 15 lakh 56 thousand 398 from his income-tax returns since 2002-2003 to 2006-2007.
