Classes and examinations of Rajshahi University (RU) will resume on October 28 after more than two months of unscheduled closure.

Campus sources said the students' dormitories will reopen today. The Provosts Council and the proctorial body in separate meetings decided that only the residential students would enter their respective halls showing identity cards at the gates.

They said the non-residential students could stay at their chosen dormitories with prior permission from the authorities concerned. But no outsiders will be allowed to stay at the halls.

The university authorities have asked the students to carry their identity cards on the campus.

The girl students have been instructed to abide by the existing evening rule for security reasons.
