An elderly person was killed allegedly by a group of terrorist at Darikandi village under Muradnagar Upazila in the district on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Chandu Mia, 68 of Darikandi village.

Police sources said local people found Chandu's slaughtered body in a boat at a canal near his house on Monday. Being informed Muradnagar Thana Police recovered the body. Previous enmity could be the reason behind the killing, police suspected. After cutting Chandu's throat by a sharp weapon in the boat, the miscreants left his body near his house.

A case was filed with Muradnagar Police Station in this connection.
