The locomotive of a train along with two bogies derailed near Srimongal railway station Wednesday, disrupting train services on Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chitagong routes. Sources said Akhaura-bound Kushiara Express from Sylhet veered off the track at about 1pm as its driver ignored a signal and continued to drive on.

Seven people, siting in the locomotive, were injured in the accident They were admited to Sadar Hospital.

Rescue operation could not be begun till filing of the report
