Two dacoits killed in shootout with police UNB, Kishoreganj Two dacoits were killed in shootout with police at Harenja village in Hossainpur Upazila early on Tuesday. The dead were identified as Abdul Karim, 40 of Harenja village and Abdul Jabbar, 42, of Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh. Police conducted a drive at Pitolganj Ajmaine village in Hossainpur upazila in search of some kidnappers who abducted college student Atiqur Rahman Selim from Purankhan area in the town on September 6. When police raided a house of the village at about 3 AM the kidnappers opened fire towards the law enforcers in a bid to flee away, forcing them to fire back. Karim and Jabbar received bullet during the exchange of fire and died on the spot Three police-ASI Nurul Huda, constable Nur Mohammad and Anisuzzaman were also injured during the shootout They were admited to Sadar Hospital. Police recovered two shuter guns and three rounds of cartridges from the spot Police said Jabbar was wanted in 10 cases and Karim in four cases.
