A Dhaka University delegation led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr SMA Faiz exchanged views on campus situation with Chief of General Staff of Army Maj Gen Sina Ibn Jamali at a city restaurant yesterday afternoon.

The delegation included representatives of the DU Syndicate, members of Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) and the Deans of different faculties.

In the meeting, the DU delegation suggested dropping of all charges against DU teachers and students, which they said would be a positive step to restore academic atmosphere on the campus.

The DGFI director general and other high officials were also present in the view exchange meeting.

Prof Faiz told journalists that he had nothing to say to the media in this regard.

A DU delegation is scheduled to meet Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed on September 16 to discuss the campus situation, DU sources said.
