Asia Cup Hockey: Bangladesh finish seventh

Bangladesh National Hockey team finished third in the 7th Asia Cup Hockey Tournament when they came from behind and earned a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong team in a place-deciding match at Chennai in India on Sunday.

The first half was locked 1-1.

Ali Arif of Hong Kong put his team ahead using a penalty corner in the 25th minute of the first half.

Russel Mahmud of Bangladesh equalised the margin by a field goal in the 35th minute of the play.

After the breather Zahid Bin Talib of Bangladesh broke the deadlock by a field goal in the 46th minute of the game.

Russel Mahmud sealed the fate of the match (3-1) utilising a penalty corner in the 59th minute of the clash.

Russel Mahmud of Bangladesh was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
