The trains are running at a very high risk in Kurigram-Chilmari line as there are so many problems at the rail route in Kurigram.

There are no stones on the railway track and as the slippers are not sufficient and very old, at any time there might happen serious accident at the rail route.

Due to the problem derailment of trains occurred frequently many times in this line and the running of goods and passengers in the train was stopped many times. As a result, government is being deprived of large amount of revenue earnings.

Though the passenger's trains are running at risk for insufficient compartments where the passengers have been traveling in a great risk for a long days.

In this route the rail line has been normally repaired but actually the main construction should have not been applied for well condition.

A source of railway said, no significant repair work was done in this track for many years. the source further said the train fair is still much less than the bus fare. Due to bus fare the passenger trains are mostly needed here.

Local sources said about one and a half decades this traik-route of this area is in dangerous and there are no steps to repair necessary. Decision to repair have been awaited for a long time. The people alleged that this route is known as this train Garour garee " (cows cart) for its bad affect in the train. All people want to repair urgently this bad condition of at the rail route of Kurigram-Chilmari.

Two minors drown

Two minor children drowned in different waterbodies in Kurigram on 29 August and 30 August

The deceased were identified as Tareq, (5), son of Abdul Khaleq of the village Chengerpar Pandit para of Union Kanthalbari under Sadar Upazila of the district

Family sources said Tareq while went to catch fish from his house with his uncle in a time at the pond the went to the deep water and none could find his dead body. After a while his dead body was found on water.

Another girl was identified as Sharmin, (6), daughter of Rahmat Mia of the village Polashbari under Sadar Upazila of the district

Local sources said the girl drowned at 11 AM while she was playing near the water-body adjacent to her house. After three hours her dead body, was found on water which was recoveredly her family members.
