Court dismisses case against 3 detained RU teachers UNB, Rajshahi A court on Sunday dismissed a case against three detained teachers of the Rajshahi University. Rabiul Alam of Metropolitan Magistrate's Court dismissed the case which was filed by Matihar thana sub-inspector Faruk Hossain on August 25 for damaging RU properties and for campus clashes. Joint forces arrested former Vice-Chancellor Prof Saidur Rahman Khan and Progatishil Sikhkhak Samaj convenor Prof Abdus Sobhan from their residences on August 23 and Associate Professor Moloy Kumer Bhoumick on August 25 following student unrest across the country. Two cases were filed against the three RU teachers following the campus violence on August 20-22. Later, they were taken on a 10-day police remand on August 25, but sent to jail hajat after a week.
