Sports reporter of Dainik Sangram Aminul Haider Chowdhury Malu died of cardiac arrest on Friday night at his Fakirerpool residence in the city. He was 68.

Malu, a veteran sports journalist and life member of Bangladesh Sports Writers Association, was rushed to the Islami Bank Hospital when he fell sick Friday evening. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where atending physicians declared him dead.

The body of Malu, a lifelong bachelor, was taken to his village home at Gopalpur in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district on Friday night

He was buried at the family graveyard on Saturday morning after the namaz-e-janaza.
