The Muslim Institute beat Mirpur XI by 2-1 goals in a match of the Metropolis 3rd Division Football League at the Outer Stadium here on Saturday.

Mizanur Rahman scored both the goals for the winners in the 12th and 42nd minutes while Santosh neted the lone goal for the losers in the 49th minute.

In the day's other match at the Bir Shreshtha Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Stadium in Kamalapur, Lalbag SC played to a goal-less draw with Rahmatganj SC.

Alam Hossain of Rahmatganj SC received the marching order for commiting a serious foul.
