Five drown in Sirajganj

Five persons including three children drowned at separate places in the district on Saturday.

Police said Hafiza Khatun, 50, and her daughter-in-law Tahmina Khatun, 25, drowned when a boat capsized at Kudbandi village under Kazipur Upzila yesterday morning.

They were moving to a safer place as their house was submerged by floodwater.

Besides, one child at Malshapara in the district town and two other children in Enayetpur area also drowned in the flood waters, police said.
