The destitute immigrants
They all claim to be lawyers or something else in London. Some of them have joined the aristocracy by geting themselves elected as councillors in local boroughs. Almost all of them are at the botom of English political and social life. Most Probash people of any culture would not be seen associating with them. Our people are being eaten, culturally and intellectually, by maggots who are members of our own Probash. It is a calamity.
The clever lawyer who presents a discussion programme on Bangla TV (a very poor media service which will help to ensure that Bengali Britons remain marginal in British economic and political life) had a very clever piece of lawyerly argument: The government in Bangladesh is arresting political leaders like Begum Zia and Begum Wajed based on allegations made by people who allegedly (I say allegedly, a word not understood or used with care in Bangladesh media or Probash media, as allegations do not necessarily amount to proof) gave the bribes. Now the clever lawyer/presenter asks: why is the government not arresting those giving the bribes?
Of course, what the poorly informed lawyer doesn't know is that in UK, where he presumably runs a practice serving the poor and destitute immigrants, is that we have something called "Plea Bargaining". There are also other means available to government to enable the state to give amnesty in order to bring to justicet These methods are routinely used by police and courts in UK. If such devices were not used it would be very difficult to prosecute the guilty in criminal cases. No apologies for lay person's viewpoint
By the way the clever lawyer doesn't tell the viewers that most our laws were inherited from England's occupation of Indo-Bangla Subcontinent
Can any government be expected to change everything within the space of a few months? That is what is being proposed by the ill-informed and unwashed members of Probash. Most of these people live miserable and pitiable lives in the 4th richest economy in the world. Why are they not trying to get their own lives sorted in London? How about geting their children some education instead of learning to dress like Black American gangsters with bling jewellery, a cigarete in the mouth, and listening to ganster rap night and day? That would be a difficult task for a community failing and destroying itself. There is no doubt that Bangladesh government must ensure that the police and security services remember that Begum Wajed and Begum Zia were Prime Ministers of the nation and as such must not be humiliated unnecessarily. They must be shown the utmost dignity even if their crimes prove to be treasonable. Sadly, the Probash media analysis does not try to explain why the accused are picked up at dawn. They are picked up by police at night for security reasons. It is the same reason the British Army retreated from Basra after midnight! Does one need to spell out all the grimy details why it has to be that way to Bengali media in London? Probably yes!
Our plea to Probash people: please help to stop illiterate media. Please encourage media that will help to improve our moral, political, educational, cultural and intellectual life in Britain. And that will be the best gift to our beloved Bangladesh.
