The Dhaka University authority has given charge to two teachers as the acting Deans of Social Science and Bio-Science Faculties respectively.

The two teachers…Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique of Mass Communication and journalism Department and Prof Istiaq Mahmud, Chairman of Bio Chemistry Department… will replace Prof Harun-or-Rashid and Prof Anwar Hossain respectively who are now in jail.

The university authority took the decision by an emergency meeting held at the Vice Chancellors office yesterday with Prof SMA Faiz presiding. Sources said the teachers were given the charge to continue the regular academic activities of the faculties in absence of the arrested Deans.
