DUTA demands release of held teachers Staff reporter Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) demanded release of the two arrested teachers of the University and requested the government to keep up the honour of the teachers and give adequate legal support A statement signed by Professor Sadrul Amin, President of DUTA and Vice President Professor Tajmeri S A Islam said. The statement says that the demonstration and ransacking of public propertes during 20 to 22 August was unexpected and a mater of sorrow. It said that the government had taken proper steps, which brought peace to life and made people feel secured. The two leaders of the DUTA said that they were deeply anxious about the arrest of the two teachers in this connection. They demanded proper investigation and urged the government to keep an eye that no innocent people got victimised. Vice President of DUTA Professor Tajmeri S A Islam said that the teachers community was shocked when some newspapers reported some negative news disrespecting the DUTA. She urged the newsmen not to report negatively without proper investigation.
