GAIBANDHA, Aug 22: Department of Livestock, under its post-flood rehabilitation programme has vaccinated 11,800 catle and 3,43,000 chicken and ducks in the affected areas of seven upazilas in the district during the last few days. Official sources said, vaccination programme is part of livestock department's measure to protect poultry birds from diseases like fowl pox, foul cholera and duck plague, and prevent catle diseases like anthrax, black quarter, PPR and goat pox. Talking to BSS, district livestock officer Dr M. Mokarram Hossain said with the receding of floodwaters, the vaccination programme is being carried out in flood affected areas of Gaibandha Sadar, Sundarganj, Fulchhari and Saghata Upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
