Bangladesh-Lanka 1st Test begins today

Bangladesh National Cricket team led by newly appointed captain Mohammad Ashraful will face Sri Lanka National Cricket team in the first Test which begins today at the Ranasinge Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh Cricket Board has dropped Mohammad Sharif, Syed Russel and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim from the 12-member Bangladesh squad.
Bangladesh faced Sri Lanka in seven Test matches so far. Of them, Sri Lanka won all the Test matches.
After arrival in the island, Bangldesh played a three-dayer match against Sri Lanka A team. The rain Interrupted three-dayer match ended in a draw on June 22.
Before leaving the country for Sri Lanka, Mohammad Ashraful, the newly apointed skipper of Bangladesh team said, "We'll try to play all the five days in the Test matches."
On the other hand, Mahela Jayawardene, the captain of Sri Lanka team said that there was no question of taking Bangladesh lightly. Mahela added that they did well in ODI cricket and looked determined to improve their Test record.
