Probe into properties of BCC Mayor begins

Barisal district administration, land registration and revenue department started investigation about the landed properties of Advocate Majibor Rahman Sarwar, former lawmaker, district BNP president and Mayor of Barisal City Corporation has been started.

On the first phase of the investigation-a team of Tahsildar, Amin, surveyor and staffs of vested property section of Barisal district administration, visiting the residence of Mayor Sarwar at Sadhur Battala area of the city on Thursday.

They measured, marked and mapped the lands upon which houses of Mayor Sarwar and his family members built.

Members of the team denying disclosing their names said the steps were taken after it was alleged that theses houses were built on grabbed lands of vested property.
