RU teacher falls from rooftop, dies in Malaysia

A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) was killed in an accident in Malaysia on June 25.
The deceased was identified as Sobbushachi Shah, 38, an Associate Professor of the Sociology Department of the RU, sources said.

Shah fell down from the rooftop of a building and died on the spot while he was walking there. He went to Malaysia in January 2007 for treatment. His body will be brought to Rajshahi soon.

Shah joined the RU as a lecturer of the Sociology Department in 1997. He hails from Sharishabari thana under Jamalpur district.

RU Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Altaf Hossain, Pro-VC Dr. Mamnunul Keramat and the Chairman of the Sociology Department condoled the death of Shah.
