Bangladeshi Students of LSE Invite Hasina for Lecture

The Bangladesh Society of London School of Economics (LSE) is organizing a lecture by former prime minister Sheikh Hasina on May 1st.

The program will be chaired by Manzila Pola Uddin, who is a Labour politician, the first Muslim woman in the House of Lords. She was born in Bangladesh and grew up in London. Uddin was educated at the University of North London, where she earned a Diploma in social work.

In 1990, Uddin was elected a Labour councillor in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the first Bengali woman to hold such an office in the United Kingdom.

The event will be held in Old Theatre, Old Building of LSE from 6-8 PM London time. The event is free and open to all but pre-registration is required. LSE students and staff can register by emailing their full name and LSE ID number to su.soc.bangladesh@lse.ac.uk. Members of the public can register by emailing their full name and address to su.soc.bangladesh@lse.ac.uk
