German regional carrier European Air Express (EAE) has selected Lufthansa Systems to implement e-ticketing as demanded by IATA. Other carriers that rely on Lufthansa Systems in this field include Air Berlin, Austrian Airlines, British Midland, Cirrus Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Lufthansa says a press release.

With its e-ticketing solution, Lufthansa Systems has created a state-of-the-art technology that handles the e-ticketing processes that deviate from conventional ticketing and check-in processes. It allows these processes to be integrated into the existing system. Around ten years ago, Lufthansa Systems introduced e-ticketing for Lufthansa under the brand name of "etix" and has since further developed the product according to market requirements.
Established in 1999, European Air Express is based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. It operates scheduled passenger services f! rom and within Germany. Based on cooperation with KLM, it serves destinations across Europe, including Amsterdam Schipol, Geneva and Zurich.
