Beximco Pharma celebrates 25 yrs of producing skin care products

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited on Friday celebrated the company's 25 years of manufacturing skin care products. To mark the event, the company organised a "Skin Care Night" for the dermatologists at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre highlighting the Beximco Pharma skin care products. Appreciating the Beximco Pharma drugs, dermatologists hailed the company for producing the skin care products locally and making these available in local market.

Beximco Pharma Chief Executive Officer Nazmul Hassan said, Beximco Pharma is committed to provide highest quality drugs at an affordable cost to assist physicians in their effort to treat patients in a better way. He thanked the doctors for having trust on Beximco Pharma drugs. Beximco Pharma Director (Marketing) Rabbur Reza said, since the inception of Beximco Pharma, dermatology is one of its core focuses. In these 25 years, Beximco Pharma has introduced many innovative products in skin care category for the first time starting with the introduction of Canesten for the first time in Bangladesh back in 1980. Later the company introduced fluconazole for fungal infections with the Brand Omastin for the first time in Bangladesh. The company's recent innovative introductions are Exovate N for both bacterial and fungal infections and lastly Soritene for Psoriasis.

These products are also first time in Bangladesh launched by Beximco Pharma. Beximco Pharma Director (Sales) Zakaria S Chowdhury unveiled the BPL plan to come up with more and more latest skin care products with highest quality to provide patients relief from skin ailments. A scientific seminar was also organised on "Current Concept in Psoriasis Management."

Regarding Psoriasis, the speakers said it's a good news for the people of Bangladesh that Beximco Pharma has recently launched Tazarotene cream with the brand name of Soritene®, as biological therapy with Tazarotene is of revolutionary significance in healing the disease.

They mentioned that Psoriasis has no permanent cure but effective treatment may provide partial or full remission of Psoriasis for substantial periods of time. Tazarotene is very much effective here.

President of Bangladesh Dermatological Society Prof. M.A. Wadud, who chaired the scientific seminar said, although there is no confirmed number of Psoriasis affected people in Bangladesh such as it affects around 2 percent of the population in the UK but the disease is increasing gradually here.
