Vietnam envoy visits DCCI

H. E. Mr. Ngo Van Hoa, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam met M A Momen, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) at DCCI office on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed on how Bangladesh and Vietnam can benefit from the ensuing Bangladesh-Vietnam Joint Commission Meeting to be held on 6-7 February 2006 at Hanoi. The meeting also discussed about the possible areas of cooperation of trade and commerce between the countries.

H.E. Mr NGO. Van Hoa. informed that Akita group of Vietnam has already initiated Joint Venture Company with Bangladesh. They are supposed to assemble motor cycle and produce auto breaks-ceramics etc. President, DCCI said that a large number of agreements between the Governments have already been signed. But to remove the trade barriers private sector has to move forward. He said leather shoes, Pharmaceuticals, Fertilizer has got enough export potentials to Vietnam.

Finance Minister M Saifur Rahman will lead a delegation to attend the first meeting of Bangladesh-Vietnam Joint Commission during 6-7 February 20p6. DCCI Senior Vice-President Hossain Khaled will join the delegation.

Among others Hossian Khaled, Sr. Vice President, DCCI, Hossain A Sikder, Vice President, DCCI and DCCI Directors Alhaj Abdus Salam, Alhaj Md. Alauddin Malik and Md. Enayetur Rahman, Managing Director, Akita Group were present in the meeting:
