Speakers at a view exchange meeting said the media could play a vital role to preserve children's rights by creating awareness among the children.
As journalist, children would become disciplined and participate in many development works in the society.
The view exchange meeting on 'Role of Child Journalist to Preserve Children's Right' was held at the CIRDAP Auditorium in the city yesterday.
Children's Express, a news agency working for the betterment of child journalists, organised the meeting.
Rahat Khan, Editor of the Daily Ittefaq, presided over the meeting, while Kamrul Hasan Monju, Executive Director of Mass-Line Media Centre, moderated the session.
Neena of Children's Express, presented the report on various works of the agency.
Dr Arefin Siddiquie, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, said children rights should be taken as priority agenda and as journalist, they would be aware of the issue of human right.
Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Executive Editor of the Daily Sangbad, said as journalists, children would be aware about constitutional act and they would develop basic education.
Alamgir Mohiuddin, Editor of the Naya Diganta, Prof Dr Golam Rahman, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University, Shafiul Alam of the News Today, Taleya Rahman of Democracy Watch, children right's activist Gazi Nabiul Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
